The first Catch of the Month contest is over at Boondock Stew. We are rolling into September with this month’s contest under way. We only had 2 entries last month, we are hoping for atleast 5 this month. With that said, we will be giving away Grizz Baits as a prize to this month’s winner. If you don’t know about Grizz Baits, you need to read this below:

GRIZZ BAITS™ are a new line of hand made high quality spinner baits that have been developed over years of fishing experience on local waters designed to catch Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Northern Pike just to name a few.

The patterns, skirt colors, blade types, and combinations that I’ve chosen have been designed and tested on waters varying from Lake Champlain, the gin clear water of Quabbin Reservoir, the tea stained waters of the Berkshire’s hill ponds, local ponds, and the varying ranges of water clarity of the Connecticut River. These baits not only catch bass under a variety of conditions but, big bass too!

What makes GRIZZ BAITS™ spinner baits different from most other spinner baits available on the market today is their adaptability to the constantly changing conditions we face on the water every time out. GRIZZ BAITS™ quick change clevis and over sized split rings on the trail blade allow you to customize the bait to meet the exact fish catching patterns that you encounter on the water. This system allows you to change both blades in just about a minute! With GRIZZ BAITS™ your patterns are as limitless as your imagination and can be quickly dialed in to meet the exact fish catching conditions.

Boondock Stew, and myself, look forward to what Grizz Baits will bring to the bass fishing world.

A friend from high school created a clothing lined dubbed “Monogram Apparel”. I encourage you to check out his website, and add it to your bookmarks! The shirts will be releasing very soon. Here’s some information, taken from monogramapparel.com

My name is Kyle Jarvenpaa, I am in my early twenty’s and reside in central Massachusetts. I have been playing guitar in bands for the past few years now in Beautiful Gorgeous and more recently in ANOMIA. I have been fortunate enough to be able to tour our country playing music. While on tour I also get to see all kinds of places, people, and other bands. I have seen my share of shirts and what people are wearing to express themselves these days.

In all of my spare time I have created Monogram Apparel. Its something I am very excited about and hope to reach people with my ideas that I am putting onto fabric. Since I was a freshman in high school I’ve wanted nothing more than to be in a band playing music and to travel the country doing it. After years of hard work, persistence and drive, I have gotten myself to a point that I at one time wanted to be at. But no matter where you get and how much you achieve, there is always something else you will be pushing yourself to do, always a new frontier to conquer.

I believe that you have to create yourself, mold yourself to what you are and who you’re going to become. Monograms saying is “Create Yourself”, and I hope to help others motivate themselves through their own self expression by plastering that main idea in front of peoples faces on t-shirts. Thank you for reading this, and thank you to everyone who supports this idea. Monogram for me is a new idea that I have been caught up in, its for the progressing person who is always pushing to get themselves to the next point they want to be. After all, life is all about progression, doing new things, meeting new people, and being yourself.
